June 28, 2025, Annual Meeting minutes were read and approved with the following corrections:
Treasurer’s Report ending balance should be dated May 31, 2025; 1 d) HHOA camping guidelines do
not follow those of Cato Township. Ben Gonzalez made a motion to approve the minutes as revised;
Kelley Hammis seconded. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report
Beginning Balance as of June 1, 2025
Credits/Deposits – Dues $ 14,
Debits/Expenses ( 2,808.70)
Ending Balance – July 31, 2025 $ 14,531.00
Motion to accept treasurer’s report made by Ben Gonzalez; seconded by Susie Zwingman.
Approved.
Old Business
1. We will contact an exterminator in the fall to address the rodent problem in the
clubhouse. Per the June meeting, ceiling tiles will be replaced when the problem is
eradicated.
2. Curt Becker’s resignation has left an open position on the Board of Governors. Tyler
Evanzo offered to step in as Vice President until the next Annual Meeting. Rascal Calcutt
will mentor Tyler, as well as other new Board members.
Ben Gonzalez made a motion to elect Tyler Evanzo with Rascal Calcutt mentoring as the interim Vice President of the Board of Governors and asked to be removed from the checking account as of August 1, 2025.
3. Park N billboard is in need of repair. Ben Gonzalez will address.
4. Weeds in Townline Lake were harvested and sprayed recently.
5. Trees were trimmed in Park B as discussed in the June meeting.
6. Amanda Evanzo reported that 3 property line stakes have been located on the lot with the
pickleball court; she will research further to locate the 4th stake.
7. There is evidence that motorized vehicles are entering Park B1, damaging grass,
despite a sign at the entrance prohibiting it. Ben Gonzalez put a rope across the entrance
and he will add a chain with a reflector.
8. The property previously occupied by Eric Galle still has debris from his motorhome fire. It
cannot be submitted to our insurance company for cleanup. Our insurance stated it could
be submitted to Eric’s insurance company. Additionally, the DNR should be contacted
regarding the debris washing into the Lake from Eric blowing his yard debris into the park.
9. Motion carried to change Bylaws at the Annual Meeting to sending one
certified/registered letter to offenders instead of two. After 14 days, the blight is reported
to Cato Township, who then investigate and ticket the person for blight accordingly. The
language change needs to be written up in an affidavit and included with the Bylaws and
recorded at the courthouse in Stanton.
New Business
1. We need to define the guidelines in the Bylaws about temporary housing on one’s property while constructing a home as a primary residence (homestead).
2. Judy Hazle will contact new owners of properties purchased through auction regarding dues.
3. The Honeymoon Heights Owners Association enjoy 16 parks: 9 lakefront and 16 back lot. Ben Gonzalez suggested an “Adopt a Park” program whereby 2 to 3 families agree to maintain park(s) near their residence in lieu of paying annual dues for up to 4 lots owned. Duties would include removing old docks, tree trimming, spring and fall cleanup, mowing/trimming, painting the picnic table, shelter, and park posts, reporting swing
sets that require maintenance. HHOA will still need to get bids for fall and spring clean up and mowing of those parks not “adopted”.
