Board of Governors Meeting

Minutes for May 15, 2025 Meeting

 

Board Members Present: Curt Becker, Ben Gonzalez, Bonnie Weber, Kelley Hammis, Susan

Zwingman, Judy Hazle

Pledge of Allegiance

Guest Forum

Ken Lundwall: Invasive plant species evident, encroaching on docks from growth on shore.

Further research needed to determine whether this is under the auspices of the Drain

Commission, DNR, or other governmental agency.

Kim Pittman: Suggested that one of the HH Parks be designated as a dog park. Further review

is needed.

 

Reading of Minutes

April 17, 2025, minutes were read and approved with the following corrections: Under

“Reading of Minutes”, motion to accept was made by Ben Gonzalez; “New Business”, #10:

“secretary” should be “treasurer”.

 

Treasurer’s Report

Beginning Balance as of April 30, 2025 $ 13,114.65

Credits/Deposits – Dues 4,376.25

Debits/Expenses (5,523.36)

Ending Balance – April 30, 2025 $ 11,967.54

Treasurer’s report was approved.

 

Old Business

1. Delinquent HOA Dues Subject to Liens – Curt Becker has contacted attorney. Callback

pending.

2. Collection Agency for Delinquent HHOA Dues – Kelley Hammis provided a copy of the

agreement with CBM Services, Inc. to act as collection agency. They keep 25% of

funds received.

 

3. Ben Gonzalez met with Tri County Electric regarding the installation of a new street

light on the corner of Hickory and County Line Roads. He gave Curt Becker the form

needed to start the process.

4. Tennis/Pickleball Court on Cherry Street – Amanda Evanzo has been power washing

the court surface. Painting will follow.

5. Judy Hazle presented the HHOA 2025-2026 proposed budget of $15,315.91, as

revised on April 29, 2025, approved at meeting, to be presented at the Annual

Meeting on June 28.

 

New Business

1. The process for addressing blight appears under “Zoning” in the HOA Bylaws. Kelley

Hammis suggested moving the stipulation of sending 2 certified letters from “Zoning”

to the By Laws; Ben Gonzalez seconded. Approved. The Cato Township process will be

adopted.

2. The subject of property rentals in HH will be researched and added to the By Laws.

 

Committee Reports

Parks – Ben Gonzalez. Will present comprehensive evaluation at next meeting.

Roads – Bonnie Weber. The roads in Honeymoon Heights have been inspected for necessary

repairs and presented to the Board for consideration. We will attend the Cato Township

Meeting on Monday, May 19th to determine the projects slated for this year and report back.

Lights – Susan Zwingman. Will report at next meeting.

Blight – Kelley Hammis. See Old and New Business

Ben Gonzalez made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Susan Zwingman seconded. Dismissed.
